Paul EllicePartnerProperty/Estates/Wills/Trusts/ Paul was born and bred in Hamilton. He graduated from Canterbury University with LLB (Hons) in 1987. He is a Notary Public and has experience in a wide range of legal matters including: Property law, Succession Planning, Relationship Property and Trusts. Outside the office, Paul enjoys trying to keep up with his wife and three young children. He also enjoys tending to the animals on his lifestyle block and escaping to the beach for a spot of fishing.
Murray BindonConsultantProperty/Estates/Wills/Trusts/ Murray graduated in Auckland in 1968 and worked in Hamilton with (now) Norris Ward McKinnon from 1968 until 2007, as a partner from 1970 and senior partner from 1985. Murray’s specialist areas of practice are commercial law; property transactions of all types; family trusts and retirement planning. Murray is also a Notary Public, since 1981. Outside Law, Murray’s past involvement has been as President of the Waikato Bay of Plenty District Law Society and Vice President of the New Zealand Law Society; President of New Zealand Jaycees and Vice President of Jaycees International; a member of the Waikato Diocesan Synod of the Anglican Church and also the General Synod of the Anglican Church in New Zealand; plus a wide variety of other community organisations. Murray is married to Yolanda from Mexico, where he spends some of his time, running his office either from Mexico City or Acapulco, and also exporting New Zealand wines to make a small contribution to our economy.
Ian DavidsonConsultantProperty/Estates/Wills/Trusts/ Ian graduated in Auckland in 1961 and worked in Hamilton with Stace Hammond from 1961 until 2002 as a partner and latterly as consultant. Ian’s specialist areas of practice are now as an adviser in estate administration and elder law. Outside the practice of law Ian has been a Hamilton City Councillor, member of the Central Waikato Electric Power Board, Chairman of Waikato Electricity Limited (now WEL Energy Limited), a director of Housing New Zealand Limited, Community Housing Limited and a member of the Housing Corporation of New Zealand. Ian has also served as Vice President of the Waikato Bay of Plenty District Law Society and is currently a member of two local committees of the New Zealand Law Society. Ian is married with four children and enjoys spending his spare time at his family bach at Whangamata and on the bowling green.
Lyn TaylorStaff SolicitorSubdivisions/Property/Estates/Wills/ElderLaw/ Lyn has been with Ellice Tanner since October 2009. Lyn previously worked as a Consultant with Hamilton Legal Services Limited (land agents), as a property rights analyst with Land Information New Zealand, and for a number of years with the Official Assignee’s office. Lyn was born in Huntly and obtained her law degree through Waikato University whilst working full time for the Official Assignee. When not at work Lyn enjoys spending time with her son Josh and helping out on the family life style block. Lyn’s main practice areas are:
Cathy LangleyLegal ExecutiveCathy has nearly 30 years legal experience and qualified as a Legal Executive in 1991. She has been an Associate of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives since 2004. Cathy joined Ellice Tanner in 2002 and has worked predominantly in the area of residential conveyancing. More recently, Cathy has also become part of the Estates team and is enjoying working with the older clients of the firm. Cathy is married with two adult sons. She enjoys reading, sport and spending time with her family, and has a passion for overseas travel, having recently spent six months travelling the UK and Europe with her husband in a campervan.
Robyn MilesLegal ExecutiveRobyn has been in the legal profession since 1987, commencing her employment at Tanner Fitzgerald Getty in 1987 as a legal secretary. Robyn qualified as a Legal Executive in 1991 and worked predominantly in the area of subdivisions and residential conveyancing. Since 2001 Robyn has been working in the Estate administration area and has also diversified into other areas of elder law such as resthome admission agreements and completion of applications for residential care subsidies or residential care loans following entry into resthome care, as well as Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney. Robyn was born and bred in Hamilton and has travelled extensively and even “imported’ her husband Keith after meeting him in London on her travels. She has two children aged 13 and 10.
Laura GrayLegal ExecutiveLaura has worked in law firms in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato ever since leaving school. She is a registered Legal Executive and graduated from Waikato University with a Bachelor of Communication in 2006. Laura has two children to keep her busy and entertained. In her spare time she enjoys going to races, local polo events, ballet and catching up with friends.
Jayde KennyPractice ManagerJayde was appointed Practice Manager in 2010 having previously been employed by Ellice Tanner as a registered Legal Executive. Jayde has been with the firm since 2006. Jayde is responsible for staff and office administration and trust accounting. Jayde is married to Darrel and they enjoy wakeboarding and snow sports. Julie OlsenLegal SecretaryJulie has over 10 years experience as a Legal Secretary and commenced employment with Ellice Tanner in May 2003. Julie is married with three adult children and three grandchildren. She enjoys holidaying at Waihi Beach with family and friends, gardening and going to the gym. Maree HatherleyLegal SecretaryMaree has had over 40 years experience working in law firms around the North Island not only in secretarial roles but also as a legal executive specialising in trust administration and estates. She is now working part-time as a Personal Assistant at Ellice Tanner and enjoys having the extra time to herself to indulge in her passions of quilting, reading, gardening, walking with her two dogs, driving American muscle cars and riding Harley motorbikes. Tamara McMahonLegal SecretaryTamara joined Ellice Tanner in April 2008 after completing a Business and Administration course. Tamara enjoys playing basketball, netball and touch rugby in her spare time, and also enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. Gemma NooyenReceptionist/Legal SecretaryGemma joined Ellice Tanner in February 2012. She is currently studying towards her Legal Executive Diploma. Gemma enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends, travelling and water sports in the weekend. |
